Italian Pop Surrealism Group Show

This June in I will be participating in a group show in Spoleto, Italy. Some of the other artists showing include Todd Schorr, Tim Biskup, Jeff Soto, Shephard Fairey, Mark Ryden and Camille Rose Garcia to name a few. This painting will be featured in a group exhibition called “ART FROM THE NEW WORLD” at Bristol’s City Museum & Art Gallery. Los Angeles’ Corey Helford Gallery is collaborating with the museum to bring the collection to British and European audiences. This painting will also be included in Joe’s upcoming museum show at Cal State Fullerton’s Grand Central Museum in November of 2010.

Working in Upstate NY…

I just got back from working with Jud Bergeron, at his place in upstate NY, in preparation for a show this coming November. The show will be at Cal State Fullerton’s Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana, CA, and will feature 10 new paintings and, in collaboration with Mr. Bergeron, eight new sculptures, as well as selected oil paintings from the last decade; in conjunction with an art book to be released at that same time, Ruby Lips Above the Water, Blowing Bubbles Soft and Fine. Here are some snapshots I took while out there working:

The night before we headed upstate, I saw Mia Wasikowska from the movie, Alice in Wonderland come out a side door of the Letterman show. People were awfully excited. You just don’t see that sort of paparazzi in Flagstaff:

2009 ramblings and the suchness

Well, December is here, and I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been visiting this silly blog and following my art. I haven’t been able to post as often this year as I would have liked to, but I have been working like crazy on a museum show in Dec. 2010 and come this January, I will start showing you all in-progress shots of what I have been up to, and the new website will be up and contests will happen too, and the like. Until then I hope you all have outstanding holidays and find much love and joy and hugs too this season.
